Insects are drawn by different scents like children drawn in from play by the aroma of chocolate chip cookies in the oven. Pheromones are scents used primarily for mating and food locating. Check out Great Lakes IPM for a wide selection for mass trapping or to stimulate aggregations or other behaviors helpful for pest control. We now offer pheromone lures for monitoring over 100 pests. Some can also be used for mass trapping or to stimulate aggregations. Many other moth scents available on request. Growers large and small can now get more cost-effective mating disruption in large and small plantings. Our Insect Food with and without methyl salicylate can be sprayed in large droplets widely scattered or spread in a creamy paste on surfaces to attract predators. Predalure uses synthetic chemicals in small amounts, usually not in contact with the crop, and so are allowed in organic farming. Lures can be stored in the freezer to maintain high potency.
